Invest in Others Charitable Foundation 5K Run/Walk

Community spirit was alive on Sunday, August 7, as civic-minded runners and walkers from across the country participated in the third annual Invest in Others 5K Run/Walk in Chicago. It was a great day for the financial services industry, advisors and their family and friends, and the local community as this fun and meaningful event raised $25,000 for BUILD. This incredible charity engages at-risk youth in the schools and on the streets of some of Chicago’s toughest neighborhoods, helping to stem the violence that takes away the positive potential and, too often, the lives of local teens.

Nearly 300 runners and walkers registered for the race, and we would like to express our gratitude to each race participant and volunteer who came out to support the 5K, and we congratulate all of you who ran or walked and reached the finish line—a real accomplishment, no matter what your finish time! We also appreciate the support of event sponsors and in-kind donors for their generous contributions, which made the event possible.

The donation Invest in Others made to BUILD will support approximately 3,700 youths in the Chicago area so they may realize their educational and career potential and contribute to the stability, safety, and well-being of the community through violence prevention and intervention, youth development, and coalition building. Invest in Others also awarded the fastest two male and two female runners in the financial advisor and overall winner categories with a donation to their charity of choice.
