Each day, financial advisors across the United States reach out and touch the lives of millions, helping them achieve their dreams by providing superior advice. They also leave a lasting and profound impact on local communities through their involvement in various philanthropic causes.
Inspired by this dedication, the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation and InvestmentNews are pleased to present the Community Leadership Awards, an annual event that offers a unique opportunity to honor financial advisors for their exemplary leadership and commitment to making a difference in their communities. Awards are presented in the following five categories: Community Service Award, Global Community Impact Award, Mentoring Excellence Award, Volunteer Team Award, and Volunteer of the Year Award.
2011 brought nominations for close to 300 advisors from 100 different broker/dealers and custodians, and 15 of these remarkable individuals were selected to be formally recognized at the fifth annual event held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on September 14, 2011. Over 100 different financial services firms were represented at this special event, where Invest in Others made a donation of $20,000 to each category honoree's charity and a $5,000 donation to each of the finalists' charities. Following this year’s awards dinner, Invest in Others honorees and finalists visited the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York City’s Time Square on Thursday, September 15, to ring the Opening Bell.
