With over 25 years of financial services leadership experience, Adam Malamed most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. In this role, he lead strategic growth and operational initiatives for one of the nation’s largest independent financial advice companies, encompassing five independent advisory and brokerage (IAB) firms with over 4,400 financial advisors. Additionally, Mr. Malamed spearheaded all enterprise-wide collaborative projects, with an emphasis on identifying and implementing growth opportunities by aligning capabilities and expertise across diverse corporate functions, teams and firms. With extensive experience across both capital markets and financial advice businesses, Mr. Malamed previously served as Co-Chief Operating Officer of Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc., the company’s investment banking and asset management businesses. During this time, Mr. Malamed helped lead Ladenburg’s acquisition of the five IAB firms that today form the core of the company’s retail financial advice organization, including Securities America, Triad Advisors, Investacorp, KMS Financial Services and Securities Service Network.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Malamed served as the co-founder and President of BroadWall Capital LLC, an independent provider of equity research on sub-sectors of the energy industry (oil field services and utilities), institutional sales, trading and private-client services. He joined Ladenburg Thalmann after successfully selling assets of BroadWall Capital in 2006 to Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc.
Mr. Malamed has a B.A. in Business Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed the Harvard Business School General Management Program. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Ladenburg Thalmann, as well as the Board of Directors for Invest in Others, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering financial advisors to give back to their communities. He holds the series 4, 7, 9, 10, 24, 63, 79 and 87 securities licenses.
