Ashley Waddington

Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida (the House) seeks to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. The House serves families with seriously ill children, providing free or highly discounted lodging and meals while children undergo medical treatments. Overall, the House acts as a home away from home for these families who are enduring such trying times, and acts as an extended family and support group.

Ashley Waddington started volunteering with the House four years ago and immediately joined its Board of Directors, becoming involved with multiple committees, including Finance, Development, and Strategy, so she could understand the inner workings of the House. She now serves as Treasurer and chairs the Finance Committee, Development Committee, and Investment Committee, where she helped update the organization’s investment strategy to better align with its mission. Ashley also regularly visits the House to check in on families and staff and volunteers as a visiting chef to help provide meals to the families. Thanks to Ashley’s emerging leadership with the House, more parents have been able to stay close to their sick children and take comfort in the camaraderie shared between other families enduring childhood illness.

I put my heart into anything and everything related to children.  And, if I get involved, I always have to give 110%, at least.
