Auditory-Verbal Center, Inc. is committed to reversing the potentially lifelong impairments caused by hearing loss in children. Through its unique programming, Auditory-Verbal Center teaches children with mild hearing loss to profound deafness how to listen and speak without the use of sign language or lip reading. The organization works to eliminate all barriers that prevent deaf and hard of hearing people from accessing mainstream education and equal participation in our hearing society. Over the past forty years, the Auditory-Verbal Center has worked with more than 40,000 individuals, creating opportunities for a lifetime of speaking and hearing.

Roger Green became involved with the organization in 1991 when he enrolled his two-year-old son, Michael, in its programming. After watching his son grow into a successful young adult, Roger began volunteering with AVC in 2013, and has served as Chair of the Board since 2016. Over the past eight years, Roger has helped the organization improve its financial stability and double its service capacity. Roger is tremendously dedicated to ensuring parents of deaf children can empower their offspring to live in a world of sound, something he treasures deeply for his own son.
