2023 Grants for Good Recipient
- Cooper-Anthony Mercy Child Advocacy Center
$20,000 for continued funding for Center
- Grant Secured by Heather Webb
What is the grant for and how will it benefit the community?
The center provides food, clothing, toys, toiletry items to children who are either removed from the home on allegations of child abuse. The children are provided forensic interviews, healthcare, therapy, and just a safe place to be a child and feel loved. There is a therapy dog for the children to provide comfort. They also do educational seminars at schools making children aware of inappropriate behavior and how to report it. They give children hope, a voice and love some children have never known. They are fully funded by grants and donations. They have even started a program recently to give support and education to the family members of the children who have gone through abuse to ensure that it never happens again.
