The Moody Family YMCA is dedicated to strengthening the foundation of community in Dallas, Texas. With a commitment to nurturing youth development, energizing healthy living, and inspiring social responsibility, Moody Family YMCA ensures every individual has access to the essential needs to learn, grow, and thrive. Programs at the YMCA include aquatics and water safety, afterschool and summer enrichment, teen leadership programs, youth sports, family-centered activities, community health programs, and recreational memberships at its facilities.
Daniel Drabinski grew up as a self-professed “Y Kid” and first volunteered with the Moody Family YMCA in 2005. Since then, he has served as a sports volunteer, board member, campaign chair and currently sits as the board chair. Daniel helped pivot the organization’s programming during the pandemic, shifting focus from recreation to basic needs and services. During this difficult period of time, Daniel led the board to raise $620,000 – exceeding a $550,000 campaign goal. This funding allowed the organization to support distance learning initiatives for local students and supply food distribution programs across the Greater Dallas area.
Giving the best of myself, allowing my children to see the impact that we’re able to have on the community—that’s really what I want my legacy to be.
