$20,000 towards Serving Veterans Leaving Homelessness
- Grant Secured by Courtney Liddy

What is the grant for and how will it benefit the community?
From homeless to hopeful – Humble Design changes lives and communities by furnishing the homes of families and veterans emerging from homelessness. The $20,000 grant from Invest in Others will make it possible for professional designers to transform more empty houses into personalized homes by filling it with furniture and home goods that make the space into a custom-designed home for that veteran and their family. This act of service brings comfort, dignity, and security to our clients, and they do not return to homelessness.
Thanks to this investment, Humble Design San Diego has been able to transform empty houses into fully-furnished homes for two veteran clients and their families, with two more veteran clients slated to receive the gift of Humble Design’s services before the end of the year. Your transformational investment will help our veteran clients to break the cycle of homelessness for good. Your gift has provided additional visibility to our organization’s mission that will have a compounding effect as the impact of your generosity ripples out across the community.
Since receiving the Invest in Others grant, we have had nine new volunteers join us in the hands-on transformation of our veteran clients’ empty houses into fully-furnished homes.
