Jason Ting

2022 Community Service Award Finalist

Samaritan House of San Mateo County is dedicated to fighting poverty and homelessness by delivering a full breadth of essential services and personalized support to the working poor. The organization’s dedicated professional staff and committed volunteers work together to deliver access to food, shelter, and health care in a dignified manner. Samaritan House strives to create stability for their clients and works to keep them connected in their community.

Jason Ting first became involved with the organization in 2013 and was struck by Samaritan House’s motto: “Neighbors helping Neighbors.” He interpreted this phase as his own personal call to action. As a financial advisor, he sees the financial disparities between the ultra-high net worth clients he works with and those served by Samaritan House – sometimes multi-generational families living in temporary housing. Jason is interested in creating balance through his volunteerism and works as a critical champion for Samaritan House as a board member, major donor, high-level fundraiser, strategic thinker, and active contributor on numerous committees.

We live in this community, and I work for ultra-high-net worth clients. I want to put those efforts into helping others who don’t start out with so many advantages in life.
