Twenty-five minutes from his home, Kevin Nast finds a city he deeply loves riddled with crime, poverty and a history of broken promises – Detroit. For Kevin, volunteering his time and financial resources to Life Remodeled allows him to contribute to the regeneration of Detroit. Life Remodeled exists to bridge people across divides to help transform each other’s lives by investing $5 million in cash, labor and materials into one Detroit neighborhood annually.

Kevin first became involved with Life Remodeled in 2014 and since then, his engagement has deepened. Kevin and his wife, Jamie, frequently volunteer together on Fridays, working on various service projects. In addition to being a top financial donor, fundraiser, and committee member, Kevin plays an important role as the Director of Transportation for a fleet of 11 buses during the annual Six Day Project. In this capacity, he is responsible for orchestrating the movement of 11,000 volunteers from registration sites to work sites throughout the week. Thanks in part to his efforts, four square miles in Detroit were beautified and repaired, resulting in lower crime rates and increased positive views of the city.
