Paul Martel

Nearly 30 years ago, I learned that easing the suffering of others, saving a life, or bringing sight to the blind were things I could do; and I have never stopped.

As the Founder and President of Partners for Andean Community Health, Inc. (PACH), Paul Martel has provided free medical care for tens of thousands of individuals in Central and South America over the past 27 years. After ten years of leading surgical teams on foreign trips, he decided to establish his own clinic in Riobamba, Ecuador in 2006. Paul’s humanitarian work has brought profound meaning to his life and a wealth of relationships with great humanitarians and unforgettable patients.

Paul travels regularly to Ecuador to manage the clinic, empower and encourage people, and collaborate on clinical and equipment issues, especially in the operating room. He has invested more than $1 million dollars to develop and equip his clinic so it can best serve the Ecuadorian people. In 2021, his organization cared for 315 COVID patients, did more than 10,000 COVID screenings and performed 400 surgeries.
