For 10 years, Rob Shick has been instrumental in raising millions of dollars for the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Foundation, advancing cancer research and care to benefit patients in Oregon and worldwide. In addition to serving as a board member since 2008, he joined the Knight Cancer Institute Council in 2006 and has chaired it since 2010. From 2006-2009, he led a $10 million initiative to build OHSU’s Center for Cancer Cell Signaling research laboratories. Most recently, Shick helped lead the ambitious and unprecedented Knight Cancer Challenge, which raised $1 billion in two years for an early cancer detection research program at OHSU. The program will bring an estimated 6,800 jobs to Portland and $35 million in annual tax revenue to the state. To garner support, he has shared his inspirational cancer survival story at more than 150 events throughout the region as well as other parts of the U.S. Shick has also provided leadership for several $2.5 million OHSU endowed faculty campaigns. He is renowned for his talents and success in developing strategy, enhancing relationships and securing donations.
